Undergraduate ESL Program
The UCD English as a Second Language (ESL) Program for undergraduates
provides 350 - 400 students per year with a variety of courses and
special services designed to enhance their English language skills.
Students in the Undergraduate ESL Program are regularly matriculated
students who are fully qualified academically, but who have been
identified as needing coursework for development of advanced levels of
academic English.
Most undergraduate offerings are writing courses
designed for incoming freshmen, but courses in writing, reading, and
oral skills are also available for transfer and upper division
students. Education Abroad students may take courses in the
undergraduate program in their second or third quarters.
